Just a post

I feel like all my posts here lately are just random snippets.  This one is no exception.  I suppose that's just how life is these days!  

Mae and Papa were here last week.  Nathan and Papa worked out of town; Mae Evelyn-sat and cooked and cleaned and walked Murphy; I was on holiday.  I went to work during the day, but that’s pretty much all I did.  Thanks for the vacation, Mae!  

It’s always tough to return to work after a weekend of full time Momma-ing, so Nate and Babycakes met me for lunch today.  Mid-day snuggles and Chick-fil-a waffle fries were much enjoyed.  

Did y’all watch the Oscars last night?  Here’s a recap of the 23 non-consecutive minutes that I watched:

• Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress, but before that she gave a big WAR EAGLE on the red carpet.      

• Angelina Jolie’s makeup and hair were gorgeous, but she needs to eat some cheese.  I heard her arms were almost mistakenly used as appetizer toothpicks at the after party.  Also, her right leg was trying to walk away.  On its own. 

• Christian Bale presented an award.  I then presented him an award for having less personality than the microphone into which he was speaking.

• Natalie Portman’s dress was lovely.  As was Emma Stone’s.  I think Duchess Kate would approve, yes?    

• I had no idea a silent film had been made this year.
